That is all that comes to mind when I think about how long it's been since I made that first post. I don't even know where to begin at this point!...

Rails of Fury & My First Post!
February 5, 2014
Rails of Fury is over with... for now. Foreshadowing? Perhaps, or perhaps not. What the future holds is always unknown but that's not the point of this post. The point here is to write about the experience with the amazing team members I had the pleasure of working with and also to say this is my first blog post ever! Really exciting right? ........ Anyways enough jibber jabber, let's get on with it.
Rails of Fury
I found camera to be the biggest challenge on the code side of things and we went through about eight iterations on the camera before settling on one finally. Camera effects and getting the FOV to dynamically change but feel really good was a difficult task. Unfortunately the FOV changing had to be cut from the final version as time quickly ran out on the project.
Balancing/Grinding was another big challenge that introduced many bugs a multitude of times. Crazily enough rotations off a ramp liked to mess with the cart's position on the rails and would kill the player even when they look to land perfectly. Fortunately this was fixed but it was a huge pain and consumed some time.
All in all this was a great first project to take on and we're all extremely happy with the final result. I find myself enjoying messing with Editor Scripts for Unity and constantly breaking things Unity is supposed to do (accidentally of course) but always managing to fix it one way or another.
What can I say about the team? They were all great! Terrific people who all worked hard day in and day out. Anytime something needed to be done close to a milestone we would all help eachother to get our tasks done and hit our milestone on time! I'm gonna give a shout out to them as well as tell you their names so you all know who I'm talking about exactly.
Melissa Borda - Project Manager/Character Artist and Animator
Colin Cormier - Level Designer/Game Designer
Sebastian Pachmayr - 3D Environmental Artist/Designer
These were all great people and I am honored to have had the privelage to work with them!
First Blog Post
I'm new to this whole blog thing and this is my first post! I feel like it is lengthy but I also had a bit to say about things of late. This part is just to close out and say that some of my future posts will include programming Videos/Tutorials! Just not sure if they'll focus on Unity alone or not... We'll see what the decision is in the future.
Thanks for taking the time to read this lengthy post!
